Air France Flight 1611 (AF1611), was shot down and crashed when it was in flight from the island of Corsica to Nice on September 11, 1968, killing all 95 passengers and crew on board. The cause of the crash was originally a fire in the rear of the cabin, however, in 2011, it was alleged that it was a missile misfired by the French army.
