Brazil's embassy in Chile said on Wednesday there were no reports of Brazilians missing or dead in Saturday's massive earthquake in Chile.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva met his Chilean counterpart Michelle Bachelet in Santiago earlier this week and pledged to send a field hospital and 22 doctors.
Brazil is waiting for authorization from the Chilean government and two helicopters of the Brazilian navy are on standby to transport the hospital and the doctors.
Chile said on Wednesday the death toll from the magnitude-8.8 quake rose to 799.
