The Mexican Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that a plane of the Mexican airline Aeromexico will be sent to Chile to take back the first group of Mexicans in the South American country hit by an 8.8-magnitude massive earthquake.
The take-off of the plane, which had been scheduled for Sunday, was delayed due to the abnormal situation at the Santiago international airport.
Chilean civil aviation authorities announced Tuesday that flights flow at the airport had gradually normalized.
Staff of the Mexican embassy to Chile have arrived in Concepcion city, one of the most affected by the earthquake, to assist a group of Mexican students, who are now being aided with food and water.
