The University of Warwick is a leading public research university located in Coventry, England. The university received its establishment approval from the government in 1961 and its Royal Charter of Incorporation in 1965.
Warwick is primarily based in a 290-hectare campus located on the outskirts of Coventry, with an additional site in Wellesbourne. It is organized into four faculties – arts, medicine, science and social sciences – within which there are around 30 departments. It has now about 18,900 full-time students and 1,700 academic and research staff.
The Times Good University Guide 2011 consequently placed Warwick eighth overall in its national ranking of the UK's universities. Based on the report of the Graduate Market in 2011, Warwick is the second most-targeted university in the UK by top employers.
