Founded in 1933, South China Normal University is a prestigious comprehensive university in Guangdong Province. It has three campuses in Guangzhou and Foshan, covering an area of 204 hectares.
The university offers 71 undergraduate programs, 174 master's programs, 90 doctoral programs in its 24 schools, covering 11 major disciplines including economics, law, philosophy, education, history, literature, management, agriculture, science, engineering and medical science.
The university employs more than 1,600 teachers, more than 900 of whom are associate professors or above, including seven academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The university currently has around 33,000 full time students and there are about 1,000 international students on long or short-term courses.
The university now has established close cooperative relations with more than 70 universities and educational organizations of in more than 40 countries and regions, including the US, UK, France, Australia and Russia.
