China's normal universities, or teachers' colleges, are institutions of higher education at which the country's teachers receive training. In addition to providing teacher training, these institutions have numerous departments which offer a range of programs for prospective college students. Many normal universities are also renowned research institutions. The following are our top 10 out of China's 100-plus normal universities.

Founded in 1928, Anhui Normal University is one of the oldest universities in Anhui Province. Located in Wuhu, a city on the southeast bank of the Yangtze River, the university has three campuses, covering an area of 230 hectares.
The university's 16 colleges provide seven doctorate programs, 71 master's programs and 66 undergraduate programs. There are more than 2,200 academic staff, among whom 550 are associate professors or above. Currently, 35,000 students are on campus, including over 3,000 foreign students from 40 countries and regions, undertaking short-term study course or full degree programs. Since 1985, more than 200,000 students have graduated from the university.
Anhui Normal University has established cooperative relations with colleges, research institutes and academic organizations in the US, UK, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Vietnam, Korea and Canada.
