Mary Bilirais is a 47 year old woman, who would collect tomatoes and other vegetables in the villages and sell them at market. She was tested HIV positive when she was pregnant 10 years ago. She was horrified at that time, "I thought my boy and I are the only two people living with HIV in my village". Mary is now a CAG group leader and according to her stigma towards AIDS has reduced significantly compared to 10 years ago. With MSF's support, they have talked with elders in their community, and played dramas to raise people's awareness of test and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Maria is proud to be a leader of the CAG who can relieve her group member's pain. [Photo/Baozhu WEI/MSF] |
