Kawasaki Heavy Industries is an international corporation based in Japan, producing motorcycles, ships, tractors, engines, aerospace equipment, and industrial robots, among many others.
With more than 45 years of experience developing robots, the company has installed more than 120,000 robots worldwide, according to its company website. The products are used in assembly, handling, welding, painting, sealing and many other industrial processes.
The Kawasaki Precision Machinery Company, of which the robotic business is a part, had a consolidated net sales of 135.7 billion yen (US$1.13 billion) during the 2015 fiscal year (with the year ending on March 31, 2015), according to the company’s fiscal report.
