The 6-foot-1-inch mayor of Sacramento, Calif., Kevin Johnson, is the only politician to slam dunk over 7-foot Hakeem Olajuwon in the NBA playoffs. The three-time All-Star guard retired from the Phoenix Suns in 2000 after 12 seasons and then returned to his hometown of Sacramento to serve as CEO of St. Hope, a nonprofit community development organization that he launched in 1989. Johnson was elected mayor in 2008, putting to use his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley.
