   Huang Guangyu

 

 

 

Huang Guangyu, former chairman of Gome ElectricalAppliances Holdings, topped the Hurun China Rich List three times in 2004, 2005 and 2008 respectively. Huang started from scratch and built Gome into the largest home appliances retailer inChina. By the year 2008 his assets had mounted to 43 billion yuan ($6.3 billion). Huang was sentenced to 14 years in prison in 2010 for illegal business dealings, insider trading and bribery.
