New Zealand Prime Minister John Key has expressed his appreciation for China's support and assistance after a 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit his country on Feb. 22.
During a letter sent to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Friday, Key said he appreciated Premier Wen's condolence and China's support and assistance after the quake rocked the city of Christchurch.
Key also expressed condolence, on behalf of the people of New Zealand, to the Chinese government and people and the family members of possible victims of Chinese citizens during the quake.
The current official death toll is 165, according to reports on Saturday.
