Iraqi parliament speaker Osama al- Nujaifi on Tuesday hailed the "Libyan revolution" and warned of foreign interference.
"Here is another head of Arab tyrant dictator to make a resounding fall, another people to gain its freedom," Nujaifi said in a statement.
Nujaifi also urged the Libyan people to protect the gains of their "revolution" which he said did not came by "paves and passable way, but through tremendous sacrifices."
Meanwhile, Nujaifi warned that the Libyans have to be aware of the interference of foreign countries whose warplanes participated in the airstrikes against the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's troops.
"The Libyans have to be aware not to let those countries to bypass their mandate stated by the United Nation Security Council in protecting civilians," Nujaifi said.
Nujaifi's comments came as the Libyan rebels declared control of most parts of the Libyan capital Tripoli while Gaddafi's whereabouts remained a mystery.
