Wang Shulin |
Born in Beijing, 58-year-old Wang Shulin was a consultant of the Equipment and Finance Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS). He joined the Communist Party of China in October 1983.
Wang studied in the Precision Instrument Department of Tsinghua University from September 1974 to January 1978, where he worked as a teacher after graduation. He was transferred to the Ministry of Public Security in September 1980.
Having worked as a policeman for 30 years, Wang Shulin was an expert in the eyes of his colleagues. In 2004 and 2005, he was assigned to participate in the project that would provide 20,000 police cars to the grass roots of China's mid-west area. Based on his profound knowledge of police cars, he negotiated with sellers and purchased the qualified cars at a lower price, saving 260 million yuan (US$38.09 million).
As a diligent police officer, Wang never cared about his age or health. He would often say "Seize the time". Despite his bad health situation, he joined the team sent by the MPS to Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince, for peacekeeping consultations. He arranged most of the equipment of China's peacekeeping force.
