LONODN, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Top seed Zhang Jike of China beat Germany's Dimitrij Ovtcharov in five sets to cruise into the men's singles final at the Olympic table tennis tournament on Thursday.
Zhang won the match 11-8, 11-3, 5-11, 11-9 and 11-8.
"I made some mistakes today, and missed some chances," said Ovtcharov, who will compete for the bronze medal in the afternoon. "I feel confident that I have a chance at the bronze medal."
Ovtcharov got the semifinal berth after a seven-set tight match against Denmark's Michael Maze.
Zhang's teammate Wang Hao, seeded number 2, will face Chuang Chih-Yuan from Chinese Taipei in another semifinal. Enditem
