China-Russia cooperation will see greater development in various areas as the two countries have lifted their relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era, experts have said.
"In the near future, we will see a marked increase in the interaction of our countries, and this process will intensify and take on new forms and directions," said Alexander Zelenkov, former deputy director of the editorial office of broadcasting in Asia, Voice of Russia radio station.
"In this sense, a truly new era is coming, not only in the Russia-China relations, but also in the world as a whole," he said, adding that the changes in the new era make Russia and China intensify their exchanges and cooperation in fields such as politics, economy, strategy and people-to-people exchanges.
In the new era of bilateral ties, Russia and China could coordinate more closely with each other on global issues and in international organizations, said Yuri Tavrovsky, a professor with the People's Friendship University of Russia.
"Our countries currently interact very well in the international arena. But we must more effectively respond to hegemony and unilateralism," he said.
Tavrovsky suggested that Russia and China should deepen their cooperation in the fields of finance, trade, infrastructure construction, and military technology.
With rising systematic risks in globalization, it is necessary to safeguard multilateralism and stick to win-win cooperation, said Vladimir Yakunin, head of the Department of State Governance of the Faculty of Political Science of the Moscow State University, emphasizing that many of Chinese initiatives are aimed at truly promoting globalization.
