Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economy Affairs Hatta Rajasa met with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi here on Thursday on bilateral relations and other issues of common concern.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the Indonesian government spoke highly of China's positive role in maintaining regional peace and stability, and appreciated the dynamics by China in boosting regional economic development, said Hatta.
Indonesia attaches great importance to developing all-round strategic cooperation with China, Hatta said, adding that Indonesia is willing to work with China to deepen political mutual trust, expand trade and investment, jointly promote the establishment of regional comprehensive economic partnership, and seek regional peace, stability and prosperity.
Wang Yi said Indonesia is an important country in this region and China always views China-Indonesia relations from a strategic perspective of boosting developing countries' growth, winning more say for developing countries, and promoting a more balanced international pattern.
Reaffirming China's commitment to developing China-Indonesia relations, Wang said China's new leadership attaches importance to the development of the strategic partnership between China and Indonesia.
He added China is willing to work with Indonesia to boost strategic coordination and deepen strategic cooperation, exploit the economic complementarity between the two countries to achieve mutual benefits, and promote regional economic cooperation and devote to the rejuvenation of Asia.
The Chinese foreign minister arrived here on Wednesday night for a 22-hour visit at the invitation of Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalagewa. Indonesia is the second stop of Wang's tour of four ASEAN nations followed by Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.
