A new bird flu H5N1 death case has been reported in Egypt, bringing the total number to 40 across the country, spokesman of the health ministry said Monday.
According to Egypt's MENA news agency, spokesman Abdel-Rahman Shahin said that a 40-year-old man died of bird flu, the first death case in 2011. The total number of the confirmed cases rises to 119 since the disease is firstly appeared in 2006.
He added that 24 people died of swine flu H1N1 virus last week, and that the ministry advised the citizens to consult physician in case of feeling any of the symptoms of the disease.
