Indian, Pakistan border guards exchange fire

Indian and Pakistani border guards Wednesday exchanged fire on border area, India's official broadcaster All India Radio (AIR) reported.
The ceasefire violation was reported from Samba sector, around 45 km southwest of Jammu, the winter capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
According to AIR, the violation took place after Pakistani Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian posts of Border Security Forces (BSF).
In New Delhi, Indian media quoted Indian border forces as saying the Pakistani side violated the ceasefire first, but there was no loss of life or damage to property in the cross border firing.
Indian border guards claim that it was the third ceasefire violation this month.
New Delhi and Islamabad in 2003 agreed to observe a ceasefire along the International Border and line-of control (LoC) in Kashmir. Though some violations have been reported on both sides, the ceasefire remains in effect.
