The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Wednesday condemned a U.S. lawmaker for speaking badly toward the country, calling her words "a malignant vituperation" against the DPRK.
Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, earlier called for taking "strong counteraction" against the DPRK and relisting the DPRK as a "sponsor of terrorism." She also called the DPRK a "rogue regime."
DPRK's official news agency KCNA said in an article that Ros-Lehtinen represents U.S. conservative hard-liners. She "is politically illiterate" and "ignorant" of the Korean peninsula issue.
After Ros-Lehtinen became chairman of the House International Relations Committee, KCNA said, it is quite clear that what she has done, is doing and will do "are nothing but escalate the anti-DPRK campaign."
Ros-Lehtinen's remarks, like actions taken by the U.S. government against the DPRK, "are despicable conspiratorial acts" to meet her evil political and military purposes, the article said.
The DPRK's army and people "will never pardon Ros-Lehtinen and her group," it concluded.
