French special taskforce policemen have entered the kindergarten where an armed young man still kept five children hostage in eastern France on Monday, according to radio channel France Info.
According to Jean-Louis Fousseret, the mayor of Besancon, the eastern city where took place the incident, the 17-year-old kidnapper started negotiation with the police and demanded a gun to commit suicide.
The young man armed with two sabres kidnapped about 15 kids between 4 and 6 years old as hostages at around 8:30 local time but released some of them after being enclosed by police force in a building.
His motivation of threatening young kids was unknown yet.
Luc Chatel, the Education Minister, has set off to Besancon for the incident and expected to arrive the site around noon.
Local media said the young man was obviously suffering from psychiatric problems.
