Two people were killed and two others seriously injured when an ambulance collided with a passenger train about 50 km west of Kiev, local police said in a statement on Thursday.
"The incident took place on Wednesday evening when an ambulance went on the railroad tracks ignoring the signal. Pregnant woman and her husband died in the crash, driver and nurse were taken to hospital being in tough conditions," a statement said.
The accident occurred just the next day after a bus collided with a train locomotive in Eastern Ukraine killing 43 people.
Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych ordered to check all railroad crossings in the country as many of them are not properly equipped.
