Top Chinese companies in Fortune Global 500

This year, China has 69 companies listed among the Fortune Global 500, surpassing Japan's 60, second only to the 133 of the US, according to the Chinese website of the magazine Thursday.
In the 2011 list, an additional fifteen enterprises from the Chinese mainland and one more company from Taiwan made the list, making the total number of Chinese enterprises listed 69,
The combined profits of the Fortune Global 500 increased 59 percent this year. Wal-Mart continues to be in first place two years running, and the eighth time in the list's history, with revenue of more than US$421 billion. Royal Dutch Shell, Exxon Mobil, General Motors and Mitsubishi are other leading companies in the Global 500.
The Fortune Global 500 is a ranking of the top 500 corporations worldwide as measured by revenue. The list is compiled and published annually by Fortune magazine.
