China's navy says it conducted routine aviation exercises in the Sea of Japan on Monday. Navy spokesperson Liang Yang said the drill was not only a test to coordination between naval vessels and aircraft, but also a regular part of the navy's annual training plan. He added that the event did not target "any specific nation, region or objective," and was "in line with international law and practice."
