Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators have occupied major avenues and areas in the South Korean capital Seoul, demanding the resignation of President Park Geun-hye.

"She gave us a feeling of shame, and she used the country to accumulate wealth as if it were her personal property. I think that’s enough reason for me to come out here," student Kim Bo-seong said.
"We came here from Hongseong by taking a three-hour-long subway ride. We traveled this far because we wanted to show our children this historic moment, as this is learning by living," said Hongseong resident Kim Hyung-tae.
"As a parent, I think I want to emphasize to my child to be honest and diligent. But I was very disappointed that the president, the leader of our country, is not able to be a role model for the people," said Ilsan resident Jang Il-han.
