The release comes with behind-the-scenes interviews with Cruise and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. In a clip, Cruise says filming was exhilarating as it allowed him the freedom to see the world from a different perspective. He also says he helped to cast the film, recommending Anthony Edwards for his role and recalling Meg Ryan lighting up the room during her screen test.
The 30th-anniversary re-release also alludes to a possible "Top Gun 2". No official details have been announced, but rumors abound about this on-again, off-again project.
