Through the ongoing development and proliferation of mobile devices, the country is welcoming in a new era of 'e-reading'. According to a survey, there were nearly 300 million e-readers in China last year and statistics show about 60 percent of them read on digital devices every day. And those numbers are on the rise.
Over the past year, on average, every Chinese citizen read 3.26 e-books -- only slightly up from a year earlier -- but the amount of time each one spends reading per day has exceeded an hour for the first time in years.
Meanwhile, nearly four in ten adult e-readers in China are under the age of 30, while almost 90 percent are under 50 years old. China's digital reading market is estimated to be worth more than 10 billion yuan this year.
