19 days after it disappeared from radar view after leaving Kuala Lumpur. Three Chinese warships have now reached the area that’s the current focus of the search, some 2000 kilometers west of Perth in Australia.
The fleet consists of a supply ship, a missile destroyer and an amphibious transport dock. They’ll help to scour an area covering around 29 thousand square kilometers. The crews will deploy visual search methods alongside radar and optical equipment. Helicopters are also being sent out to carry out airborne observations.
Meanwhile, a Chinese military plane has now returned to base after another day searching the area. Chinese ships and planes will continue to search in the same regions, even if no clues have yet been spotted on Wednesday. And the Chinese icebreaker, Xuelong, has also arrived now in another area, where Chinese planes spotted some suspicious objects on Monday.
