Hundreds of Palestinians have attended the military funeral of the Palestinian ambassador to the Czech Republic, who died on January 1 in Prague after an embassy safe exploded.
Czech police say the safe which killed Jamal al-Jamal may have been booby-trapped. A dozen weapons that were said to be illegal were also found at the embassy complex. Deputy Palestinian Foreign Minister Taysir Jaradat denied the weapons were illegal and said they dated back to the Cold War.
It still remains unclear what caused the safe to explode, but the ambassador’s death is being investigated as a case of negligence.
