An unmanned Russian freighter has parked itself at the International Space Station. It's the second attempt to test an updated space docking system.
The robotic Russian Progress 47 spacecraft re-docked to test the new Kurs-NA system. The cargo ship automatically attached itself to the Pirs docking compartment on the Russian segment of the massive orbiting laboratory at one past one GMT.
The first attempt on Monday failed. It was aborted after a technical glitch prevented the spacecraft from reaching the orbiting outpost. The Progress 47 is an important supply transport for the International Space Station.
