The best month of Jeremy Lin's professional career took him to Orlando on Friday night. The NBA's first American-born player of Chinese descent, shared his incredible month.
Lin was a late addition to Shaquille O'Neill's side to take on a select group of young All-Stars selected by Charles Barkley.
The Knicks point guard still is attempting to overcome the stereotypes of his unlikely rise to NBA stardom.
Jermemy Lin said, "Just trying to stay focused on basketball and I think the schedule helps because the games come so fast. At the same time being around my team mates just trying to stay focused on what we have the next game and what we need to do to improve so just trying to tune everything on the outside out and trying to stay focused"
Lin has averaged 14 points a game and just under six assists since he was brought into the New York Knicks starting line-up on February 4th, but on Friday night, Linsanity became overshadowed as the Harvad grad only notched two points during his 8-minutes of play.
He said, "Yeah, I am definitely surprised that people are still talking about, you know, 'Linsanity' or whatever. I think hopefully as the season progresses it will go from that to New York Knicks. And hopefully the Knicks can win basketball games and make a good push at the end of the All-Star, after the All-Star break and people would start talking about the Knicks and not necessarily me."
From the moment he was brought into the New York lineup, Lin has captivated the Knick and NBA fan base as well as attention from other NBA megastars with a series of outstanding, and surprising performances.
In Lin's last 10 appearances, he has scored an average of 21 points per game. Lin said that he is still in disbelief at all the attention he is receiving, and hopes the attention will soon be spread among his team mates.
