Turning to Hollywood, and the Producers' Guild Awards - the precursor of February's Oscars - will be handed out at a ceremony in LA on January 21st. On Tuesday, the Guild announced its 10 nominees for Best Picture of the Year.

The historical epic "War Horse," the Deep South drama "The Help," silent film "The Artist" and the wedding comedy "Bridesmaids" are all in the running for top honors. Other nominations include "Moneyball" and a surprise addition "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo".

Two George Clooney tales, "The Descendants" and political saga "The Ides of March" also make the list, as well as Paris based tales "Hugo" and the romantic fantasy "Midnight in Paris".

The nominations for best animation include "The Adventures of Tintin," "Cars 2," "Kung Fu Panda 2," "Puss in Boots" and "Rango."
