Do you ever find yourself unable to walk past that local chocolate shop or mesmerized by the chocolate figures in the window display? Well, a new chocolate-themed Park due to open in Shanghai will probably make you wish you lived next door.
From a gilded record player to a cruiser bicycle and from highly covetable handbags to the national treasure, the six-meter long "Dwelling on the Fuchun Mountain" scroll They're all entirely made of chocolate. Here at the Shanghai Chocolate Dream Park audiences are getting a sneak peek at what's in store for them when the park opens in December.
The original scroll is the work of Yuan-dynasty painter Huang Gongwang. The chocolate inspired scroll is a 1-to-1 replica of the original painting, but made using 100 kilograms of pure chocolate, far exceeding the originally intended weight.
Chocolate making is an intricate art as much as it is an exact science.
Chocolatier, said, "There are lots of temperature requirements. We usually set the room temp between 18 and 22 Celsius, but on a marble table top, the temperature needs to be set between 26 and 28 Celsius. Of course, all this needs to be adjusted according to the actual hardness of the chocolate."
Modern craftsmanship is breathing new life into the 3000-year-old chocolate culture. Its allure defies time and borders.
