He's on top of the Billboard 200 and his album hit the number one spot in Canada, the US and is also in the top ten of fifteen other countries. He is Justin Bieber. 2010 really has been an amazing year for the U.S. teen star.
The 16-year old Canadian singer released the second part of his 2009 debut album "My World," called "My World 2.0" in January this year. It makes him the youngest male artist to top the Billboard 200 since Stevie Wonder in 1963.
The highlights in 2010 for the young star also included starting his first official headline tour and recording his second album in New York. He was a presenter at the Grammy's and performed a medley of "U Smile," "Baby" and "Somebody to Love" at the MTV Video Music awards in September.
Despite the hype surrounding him, Justin's feet seem firmly on the ground.
Justin Bieber, Teen Star, said, "Hollywood is ... a scary place, there's a lot going on, there's a lot of bad things, but there's also a lot of good things. I'm able to live my dream, I'm able to do a lot of good things."
However it's other facts that make Bieber's year interesting. He is not only the most searched for celebrity on the Internet, but in July 2010 his video for "Baby" surpassed Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" to become the most viewed YouTube video ever.
Bieber was spotted performing on YouTube when he was just 13. After auditioning for Usher, he was signed to Island records. Usher, the R N'B superstar has been the young Bieber's musical mentor ever since.
Usher, Singer/Producer, said, "My only hope for Justin is that his wildest ambition comes true and it matches what he has in his mind. I think that he, at a very young age too, set very high goals for himself. You definitely don't know what to expect."
2011 looks even brighter for Bieber. A 3-D film about him is scheduled for release in February, which is directed by "Step Up 3-D" director Jon Chau and a new album is scheduled for release later in the year.
