If you have seen the American classic film "Jaws," you probably think hunmans are a shark's favorite meal. But divers from SinoScuba are working to turn that fear into appreciation for the mysterious, underwater beasts. The diving company is hosting its first official Shark Week this week at the Blue Zoo Aquarium in Beijing.
SinoScuba Co-founder and Managing Director Steven Schwankert says they are hosting the event to promote education about the animals and prove they are not as dangerous as people think. Though this is the first official Shark Week at Blue Zoo, divers at the aquarium have been allowing the public to swim with the sharks for some time now. And they have never had any injuries.
Despite Schwankert's expert opinion on the safety of these creatures, many aquarium-goers are still too scared to swim with them. Just ask the children visiting.
