The US government has given BP permission to continue key pressure tests in the Gulf for another 24 hours despite finding five small oil leaks around the capped well.
Oil has been detected 2 miles from the main blown out area, which was capped last week. It comes, as BP prepares to sell off assets, in Vietnam and Pakistan to help pay for its spill costs. Company officials, say they've notified the two countries' governments of their plans. BP will put this money towards the Gulf compensation fund. Resources, company Apach,e says it'll buy 7 billion US dollars in BP assets. It's the only offer BP has received so far.
The company says the cost of dealing with the spill has now reached nearly 4 billion US dollars. The company's already paid 207 million to settle claims and damages.
