In a move to introduce Chinese cities to the world, China International Publishing Group and Foreign Language Press is launching the book series "Cities of China." The first three titles have just been released, featuring Nanjing, Kunshan, and Wuxi.
"Life on the Water's Edge" gives visitors a look into the history of Nanjing and features the hidden gems not easily found on a casual visit. Leafing through the pages, one can venture through more than 2,000 years of history, to the famous local landmarks, to the very river that inspires the travelogue.
The author Bobby Brill comes from United States. He's a ten-year veteran of the media industry, working in photography, cinematography, and multimedia content production.
Also from the United States, Einar Tangen is a financier intrigued by the development of Kunshan. He's hoping to introduce the business paradigm of this fast-growing city to international investors.
The books and upcoming titles will all be written by foreign writers. Close to one hundred foreign writers are selected for the project, which aims to introduce China from a western perspective.
Also released is Wuxi, a photo album featuring the works of ten international photographers. The first three titles are heralding the release of twenty to thirty books in the next three years.
