The week long anti-terror joint military exercises involving China and Pakistan is in its final stage. July 9th will be the final drill involving both ground troops and the air force.
Old friends meeting new challenges.
This is the third anti-terror military exercises to be held jointly by China and Pakistan in 6 years.
For this year's drills, the two armies shared "state of the art" anti-terror weapons.
The final exercise is a final comprehensive exercise which involved both ground troops and air forces.
Li Fuhua, Sr.Colonel of Director of Joint Military Training, said, "For this year's joint military exercise, we have a very high level of strategic consultation, battle planning and command on tactics level. We also have transport aviation, fighter bombers and army air forces joined this year's exercise."
For the first time, the final exercise will feature fighter-bombers demonstrating their capabilities against terrorist positions.
China and Pakistan held their first-ever joint anti-terrorism exercise, "Friendship-2004," in Xinjiang. About 200 border soldiers from each country participated.
In 2006, the second joint anti-terror military exercise was carried out in the hills of northern Pakistan's Abbottababd.
