The Flying Goddess Awards are handed out to honor the top performers in China's TV industry, but the real star at this year's event may be the venue. The annual star-studded spectacle will be held this year at the China National Aquatic Center.
According to the director, two separate stages will be installed at the Water Cube venue. And the red carpet will lead across the water to center stage. Naturally, the ruling theme will be water. And special arrangements have been made to ensure close interaction between the award winners and the six-thousand-plus spectators.
Last weekend, organizers of the Flying Goddess Awards announced a partial list of winners for some major awards. The silver TV series awards have gone to nine productions. Among them are "The Wind Blowing From the North", "The Legend of Bruce Lee", and "To Strive". A special award was given to two productions based on real events ... namely, "The Seven Days that Shook the World" and "Olympics at My Home". Additionally, sixty actors will be honored with the Outstanding Contribution Award.
The Flying Goddess Awards began soaring with the stars in 1981, and in all, the event has been staged 26 times. This year, nearly two-hundred TV shows are included in the selection process. According to organizers, 43 of them will be honored in some category.
The upcoming ceremony will surface at the Water Cube this Tuesday.
