Qingdao-made LNG modules sent to the Arctic

Two gigantic liquefied natural gas core modules were shipped on June 28, 2016, and ready to set off to Russia from the Ship and Marine Industrial Base in West Coast New Area of Qingdao, a coastal city of east China's Shandong province. The equipment manufactured by the Qingdao branch of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Offshore Engineering Company will be used in the large-scale Yamal liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in the Arctic Circle – cooperation project of China and Russia. The module stands 46 meters in length, 35 meters in width and 14 meters in height, and weighs 2,000 tons. Using high-grade and advanced technology, the equipment has high tolerance to cold. |
