Apple awards Qingdao citizen for APP downloading

Fu Chunli, a citizen of Qingdao City, downloaded the 25 billionth app from Apple's App Store, pushing the mobile software store to a new milestone, Apple announced on Monday. Fu downloaded a free version of "Where's my water?", the popular mobile video game of Disney. As the winner, she will receive a US$10,000 iTunes gift card. App Store offers more than 550,000 apps to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users in 123 countries around the world, of which more than 170,000 apps are for iPad users. Apple has paid more than US$4 billion for developers. Downloads from App Store have been accelerating steadily since it was launched in mid-2008. The number has up to 10 billion by January of 2011.
