The Steering Committee of Commissioners General for Expo 2010 held its ninth and last meeting at the Expo Center on Tuesday. The participants heard the final report of their work and gave it applauses.
The committee members expressed thanks for Shanghai organizers and congratulated them for holding a successful World Expo.
Vicente Loscertales, secretary general of the International Expositions Bureau, spoke highly of the concerted efforts by everyone involved in the Expo.
He said more developing countries would be granted the opportunity to host the world fair in the future and the event could help stimulate the host country's economy.
The meeting was chaired by Hiroshi Tsukamoto, chairman of the Steering Committee of Commissioners General for Expo 2010 and commissioner general of Japan. Commissioners from more than 20 countries attended the meeting.
