Niue's Prime Minister Toke Tufukia Talagi addresses the ceremony. |
Niue, a tiny Pacific nation with around 1,400 people, celebrates its National Pavilion Day on October 19 with a performance of traditional song and dance in Oceania Square.
Niue, which is selfgoverning, is in free association with New Zealand.
Though small, it is the world's largest coral atoll and is known as the Rock of Polynesia, or the Rock.
The pavilion in Zone B is within the Pacific Pavilion, which is themed "Pacific — Inspiration to Cities."
In 2003 Niue became the world's first WiFi country when free wireless Internet became available throughout.
