A fashion show and music performances were staged at the South Africa Pavilion on October 18 to celebrate the rainbow nation's successful participation of the World Expo.
About 3.5 million people out of nearly 66 million Expo visitors had toured the South Africa Pavilion, which features "Environment and Climate Change," "Tourism and Heritage," and other theme exhibitions.
Other events at the pavilion included celebrations of the country's successful hosting of the World Cup, the Mandela Day, and a tribute to South African women's contribution to democracy.
Its exhibition, "Rise of a Modern Economy - Ke Nako!" helped to strengthen the strategic partnership between South Africa and China, said Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, South Africa's minister of home affairs, at the ceremony.
The pavilion remains open until October 31.
