Commissioners general hold 7th meeting

During a conference on September 24, the Expo organisers and commissioners general discussed the closing ceremony activities, a joint “Shanghai declaration” during the closing of this Expo and the policies of removing pavilions when the Expo ends.
The seventh conference of the Steering Committee of the Constituent Session of the College of Commissioners General of Expo 2010 Shanghai China was held in the Expo Centre yesterday morning. The organisers also explained some specific rules and issues in response to participants’ inquiries.
The Steering Committee also discussed the summit forum events as well as the collecting of Expo items for a memorial hall for the Expo Shanghai. Department heads of the Expo 2010 explained inquiries to commissioners general.
The committee expressed appreciation and satisfaction for the Expo organisers' services and hoped they would make further efforts for smooth operation in the remaining one month and a few days.
During the conference, Vicente Loscertales, secretary general of the International Expositions Bureau, congratulated on the event’s visitor volume reaching 55 million and wish Expo organisers as well as participants to make further contribution to a successful and splendid Expo 2010.
The session was hosted by Hiroshi Tsukamoto, chairman of the Steering Committee of Commissioners General of Expo 2010 Shanghai China and Commissioner General of Japan. Commissioners general from more than 20 countries attended the session.
Hua Junduo, China's commissioner general for World Expo 2010, Hong Hao, director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, Huang Jianzhi, deputy director general of the bureau, Zhu Yonglei, deputy director general of the bureau and Awni Behnam, the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and UN Pavilion Commissioner-General were also present at the meeting.
The next conference is scheduled to take place in mid October.
