Zimbabwe celebrated its National Pavilion Day on Auguest 11.
The pavilion showcases African civilization, the ruins of Great Zimbabwe and the country’s world-famous stone sculpture expressing spiritual beliefs and links with nature. The sculptures are like Zimbabwe's "calling card."
The pavilion recreates one of the mysterious "houses of stone" from Great Zimbabwe (around 1270- 1550 AD) and features the spectacular scenery of Victoria Falls through shifting light and other multi-media effects.
The exhibition emphasizes the country's balance between cities and countryside and the practical wisdom of African civilization emphasizing harmony with nature.
