The largest jade sculpture of sea goddess Mazu on the mainland will be exhibited at Fujian Province's Expo 2010 pavilion, which will offer a close-up look at the province's landscape, culture and performances.

The 3.23-meter high statue was made of jade from Myanmar. It will be on display alongside screens showcasing Fujian's typical landscape including Wuyi Mountain and Gulangyu Islet.

Visitors will also learn about tea culture, porcelain and lacquerware while tales about Fujian's culture and history will be unfolded through performances. These include puppet shows and Nanyin music, a traditional opera sung in the Minnan (south Fujian) dialect.

The pavilion will take the shape of a ship, featuring patterns of a banyan tree which represents Fujian and the sea. Its theme is "Charming Fujian Province on the West Bank of the Strait."

The province's virtual pavilion at Expo Shanghai Online will go live before April.
