Serenity by name, serene by nature, this spa is indeed a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the hectic world outside. The oriental-themed decor has touches of Thai, Chinese and even Arabian influences; with low lighting and artfully draped fabric, the effect is stunning. On entering the spa, guests are provided with a range of scents to determine which aromatherapy oil should be used to give the more relaxing treatment possible. All the oils are unique to the spa, having been personally blended and created by the Spa director, a trained aromatherapist.
There are 13 treatment rooms in total, including double suites for couples, and each room has its own shower room, which doubles as a steam room for an extra kick. There is also a Vichy shower room, a foot massage suite, and a hair and beauty salon which is due to open shortly.
The treatment list is comprehensive, offering everything from massages and scrubs to facials, and all massages begin with a foot ritual and salt foot scrub. Their signature treatment package (RMB 1,280) includes an exotic body scrub, bath ritual, facial and massage with two therapists, but their regular aromatherapy massages start from RMB 500. We loved the Asian blend massage (RMB 500), a combination of Swedish and Thai stretching and massaging.
