Traditional folk cultural events have helped to pack in visitors to rural areas in Guanxian county, Liaocheng city, Shandong province, during Spring Festival.
More than 80,000 visitors, including 2,000 groups of tourists, traveled to the county to experience local intangible cultural heritages, such as paper-cut, gourd carving, aluminum wire weaving, woodblock New Year paintings.
"Every spring, I bring my children here to take a stroll, ride bikes, watch traditional cultural performances, taste the local cuisine, and visit the village museum, allowing the children to experience traditional culture," says Liu Dongming, a resident from downtown Liaocheng.
In recent years, Guanxian has striven to integrate culture and tourism to support rural vitalization.
"Next, we will strengthen tourism project construction, expand the market, and use ethnic culture as the carrier to promote the integration of culture, sport and tourism," says He Ning, deputy head of Guanxian.
