Located at the foot of Hongluo Mountain, Hongluo Temple is 7 kilometers northwest of Huairou District. Originally erected in 348 AD and renovated during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), it is the largest Buddhist temple in northern China. With wild flowers, various pines and fresh air, the temple is worth a visit, especially during the spring and summer. Visitors can burn incense and stroll from hall to hall under a shade created by the canopy of trees inside the yard.
