The 2010 Shanghai World Expo exceeded its goal of 70 million visitors at 10:17 on October 24, according to its organizers.
More than 666,300 visitors had entered the expo site on that day, as of 16:00.
The total number of visitor arrival to Shanghai Expo since its opening in May 2010 has broken the record of 64 million visitors set by the 1970 Osaka World Expo in Japan.
The six-month event will close at the end of October. During the last week of the Expo from October 25 to 31, the daily number of visitors will be limited to 400,000 to 500,000.
